After a global and viral call inviting individuals from all countries to participate, recording in video certain aspects of their lives, with the only condition on doing it on one specific day, the One Day on Earth project is ready.
The day was October 10th, 2010 (10/10/10), thousands of people from every corner of the world, filmed their perspective and send the footage for this project. They received over 3,000 hours of footage on the day, and put it into a movie.
“Many filmed topics of beauty and culture, while others exposed us to challenges, both global and personal. Founded in 2008, ONE DAY ON EARTH is an online community, a video time capsule, and a media creation platform. It explores our planet’s identity and challenges in an attempt to answer the question: Who are we?“, so they say and believe me, it is so much more than just that.
I strongly recommend you to take your time and go to their Online Archive, a beautiful interactive mapping navigation interface, it will give you a bigger perspective of what this project is and what they have achieve.
You still can support them, you can donate, buy the DVD, or through Kickstarter. And you should, because after you have seeing this you will realize it won’t stop. It shouldn’t.
