A diferencia de las grandes convenciones de comics como la Comic Con de San Diego, o la Wonder Con, la Image Comic Con reúne a creadores independientes, quienes hayan logrado ya publicar su libro o estén en proceso de hacerlo, y los pone muy de cerca con los fans, es casi una expo familiar.
La pasada edición llevada a cabo en Oakland tuvo como principal atractivo a protagonistas de la serie de televisión The Walking Dead, pero además muchos distribuidores y vendedores de comics pudieron intercambiar opiniones y artículos, y muchos autores dar a conocer libros que difícilmente puedes encontrar en tiendas locales. Una expo sin duda diferente y de gran valor, todavía fiel a los valores del comic y sus fans.

This simple and easy project it’s melancholic as it can be, beautiful too. Dear Photograph talks to everyone of us, but to the picture itself too, to that magic memory stolen moment that used to be physical. And maybe that’s another factor added to the melancholic sense of this project, how many kids and youngsters have really touched a photograph? Maybe once in a frame, back in aunt’s Whatever house, but are they still putting silly pics around their mirror? In albums? Or they just have them as desktop image? Profile contacts? Something to think about, but meanwhile, all those who has printed pictures and live in the same house after 20 years, are working in the same place or driven the same road, can easily be part of this.
