Disney goes Steampunk

Steampunk a term invented in 1987, is a fictional steam technology adapted to past centuries stories, like the Victorian époque, the wild American west, etc… or in the most popular candid and tender gender of all times: Disney characters; like artists MecaniqueFairy and HelleTitch did in a magnificent series of characters and Disney princess.

Invented by science fiction author KW Jeter to refer his own job and two other fellow writers, and it has its precedent in the work of artist like Remedios Varo, HG Wells, even Mary Shelly. Jeter wrote in a letter presenting one of his novels: “Personally, I think Victorian fantasies are going to be the next big thing, as long as we can come up with a fitting collective term for Powers, Blaylock and myself. Something based on the appropriate technology of the era; like ‘steampunks’, perhaps…”

Enjoy…

Check their DeViant art profiles. what I loved about this was the fact that each character keeps it’s original integrity, even the princess are still more naive and cute than sexy.
